I cooked this nasi ulam nyonya for my staff as a farewell lunch for one of them. I used salted egg to replace the dried shrimp and salted fish. I did not use galangal and tumeric root. The aromatic filled the air the moment I sliced all the leaves. It was their first time eating nasi ulam and I am surprised that everyone enjoyed it so much.
